James Baney, the keyboard player for The Devil Wears Prada, did not leave the band of his own accord in 2012. According to multiple sources, including statements from Baney himself on his social media, he was asked to leave the band. Baney clarified via Twitter that “[...] leaving the band was not actually my decision” (source).

The band announced that they had “parted ways” with him, noting it as a difficult decision (source). Despite the phrasing, it was clear from Baney’s side that the departure was not mutual.
