William McMillan was a prominent figure in the Masonic Lodge, and after his death, the Lodge bestowed several honors upon him. He was a member of the Knights Commander, Court of Honor, and his death marked him as the oldest member of this group. The Lodge also commemorated his 150th anniversary of the founding of St. John's Lodge in the Masonic Temple. Furthermore, McMillan was initiated into a pioneer Lodge on April 8th, 1795, and at his death on May 17th, 1804, that Lodge came into possession of his bequest. These honors reflect the high esteem in which he was held by his fellow Masons. For more information, you can refer to the history of St. John's Lodge and the history of the Grand Lodge of Nevada.
