The 1975 Tân Sơn Nhứt C-5 accident, also known as the crash of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy during Operation Babylift, resulted in a tragic loss of life. The aircraft crashed on April 4, 1975, shortly after takeoff from Tân Sơn Nhứt Air Base near Saigon, Vietnam.

Out of the 328 people on board, 138 people were killed. The passengers included many Vietnamese orphans being evacuated as part of Operation Babylift, along with U.S. embassy staff and military personnel. The accident was attributed to a mechanical failure.
